Hawaii businessman Duane Kurisu and his son, Robert, have purchased 12 properties totaling about seven acres in Lihue on Kauai, whose tenants include a Taco Bell, Burger King, a car wash, offices, a preschool and the island’s only movie theater, from Grove Farm, for $16.7 million.
Robert Kurisu, who confirmed the sale to PBN on Thursday, said that the purchase by the family’s newly-formed company, Nalu Aio LLC, was a straight investment. He said the and his father wanted to further diversify their real estate portfolio, which includes a mix of properties across the state on all major islands, now including Kauai.
The properties are mostly located at Kukui Grove Street near the Kukui Grove Center
